O-R

Operating system,
the application by which the computer runs on. On an IBM compatible computer the most common is Windows, but there is also DOS, and OS/2. On a Macintosh or an Apple the most common is System 7.

Printer,
the device that types out your graphic or document. A laser printer is the best, followed by a bubble jet, then dot matrix. There are also two kinds of printers, a color and a black-and-white. Black-and-white printers are most common because of their inexpensive cost compared to color printers.

Program,
see application.

Qwerty,
the most common type of keyboard.

Random Access Memory,
RAM is what helps your computer run so smoothly. RAM is sort of like your hard drive, when your hard drive sends a picture of your screen to the microprocessor, the processor then copies it to the RAM so that you do not have to over work your hard drive. RAM is absolutely needed.

Register,
means to either buy the right to use the demo for more than the evaluation period or send in a registration card to the company after the purchase of the application, to receive information about other products by that company.
