The Hummers
|
|
|
Ownership of a
llama is not necessary. All members adopt a llama to groom and train in
showmanship, pack and obstacles.

panchos and matching llama blankets which they made. Christmas Parade 2000. |

Grooming includes:
desensitizing, brushing, blowing, trimming nails and general show readiness.
|
|
|
Obstacles include:
stairs, ramps,
water, over and under obstacles, walking backwards, fan blowing streamers,
tunnel, getting in and out of a vehicle, cushing and possibly others.

We use the Llama Youth Manual prepared
by the Rocky Mountain Llama & Alpaca Assn. It is available form the
RMLAA, 303-273-9445 and cost $3 the last time we purchased them! It is
really informative.
