SETTLEMENT DAY                         March 26, 1998
The Hamlin Township Board met Thursday, March 26, 1998 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hamlin Townhall.
Present: Griffith, Lewis, Anderson. Absent: Petersen, Voelker. Six in attendance.
Ms. Griffith called the meeting to order. 
Public Comment: Mr. Dave Johnson and Dr. Kennedy, residents of East Decker Road, asked the board to consider creating a special assessment district for East Decker Road to be paved. The Board voiced their reluctance to do so without a consensus of all the residents of East Decker Road and their reluctance to set a new precedent. Dave Johnson will further study and look into getting other price quotes for the road work. 
Budget amendments totaling $34,850 in an increase in revenues were approved on the MOTION of Lewis, supported by Anderson:RC AA MC

On the MOTION of Anderson, supported by Lewis, the Board approved the 1998-99
BudgetStabilization Fund. RC AA MC 
On the MOTION of Anderson, supported by Lewis, the Board approved the Proposed
1998-99Fire Operation Fund Budget. RC AA MC 
A Truth in Taxation Hearing was held. The ad valorem property tax mils levied by Hamlin Township to support the proposed budget is 1 mil for general fund operations and .3 mil for fire operations. 
In other business, the Board auctioned off 12 old tables - four sold at $5.00 each; eight sold at $2.00 each.
