March 25, 1999 New budget approved. Accepted the bid submitted by Chippewa Trail, Inc.for the purchase of a John Deere lawn mower at a cost of $6,245 less trade-in value of $1,100
March 11, 1999 Approved the purchase of software to combine the GIS mapping with the new Equalizer Program and to hire Progressive Eng. to update.approved spending up to $3,000 to help fight the leasing of oil and gas under the State Park permanently by making Ludington State Park a State land Reserve.Approved  3.3% wage increase rounded to the nearest 0 or 5 for all boards & employees including fire dept., election workers, and Assessor.amended the Administrative Section of Board Policy by adding: "Public body must identify themselves before speaking at a meeting. Each person speaking is limited to five (5) minutes during the public comment section of agenda.
February 11, 1999 Approved spending up to $360 to honor the fire personnel at a recognition dinner.The taxable value increase for 1999 is 1.6%. The Board will look at changing the recycling options for the new year. Work on acquiring grant to do stabilization projects on the Big Sauble River with Conservation Recreation Alliance,
January 14, 1999 Held at 4PM. Approved Chris Hansen's application to be a firefighter.Accepts Vandervest Construction's bid of $1,361 to repair damages to townhall. Tabled discussion on increasing the cost of garbage bags
December 10,1998 Held at 4PM. Fire Dept looking into new barn plans;Approved $300 year contract to maintain website;approved phone line to clerk's home; taxable value increased 1.6%; Jan & Feb board meetings to be held at 4PM instead of 7:30PM
November 12, 1998 Demonstration of defribulator; Vandervest snowplowing contract approved; fire dept to be connected to internet thru T-One.net; extra help approved for Assessor; County considering making Jagger a primary road; Township to charge for faxed info $.50 local; $.75 long distance
October 8, 1998 Alway officially on Fire Dept; no snow plow bids received; approved new copier for townhall; transfer site cost discussed; per Dittmer,Jagger road does not meet the population criteria for urban development funds
September 10,1998 Approved purchase of a cardiac unit for Fire Dept; approve swing set for S. Bayou Park; sent letter to MDNR opposing all leasing of oil rights under the state park;Tabled Mavis Road repairs
August 13, 1998 Accepted $1,800 bid to paint Townhall & firebarn. Voted $1 hr. pay raise for the custodian to $8. Voted to include a 2 mil road millage request on the November ballot. Tabled Mavis Road repairs. 
July 9, 1998  Hired 2 new firefighters, John Broderick & Rob Alway; Office Manager pay raise; voted to adopt several Zoning changes; private contractor to be sought to remove Mavis Road hill; Board votes to rescind several ordinances
June 10, 1998 Hired new firefighter Jackie Allen, Shoreline Waste increasing fees from $45 to $85 per container; Mavis Road hill; Eagles Park grandfathered; Maclean to head ad hoc road committee; approves fireworks permit for Hamlin Lake Preservation Society.
May 14, 1998  Gasoline detected in State Park Hdqtr. ground water;Lake Board to review special assessment which has expired;Denied B. Forgue's request to recieve minutes of the meetings at no charge for publication on this web site; hired Digital Dezign to create a website for the Township not to exceed $500; received a petition for Partridge Point residents to place a millage request on the ballot to pave Lincoln Road; discussed overnight camping at Eagles Park;
April 9, 1998  Fire department reports that new firefighters outfits are on order. Andy Casperson was elected "firefighter of the year" by his peers. Mason County Road Commissioner Gary Dittmer attended and discussed road improvements for 1998. Supervisor K. Griffith requests funds to establish a website.
March 23. 1998   Settlement Day (prepares for 3/31/98, end of fiscal 1997)
March 12, 1998 Board approved purchasing 15 sets of turn out gear for  Fire Dept; Reviewed request from Dave Johnson asking the Board to consider establishing a special assessment district for East Decker Road residents to resurface the road; Kathryn Genter hired as the new office manager effective 3/26/98;

January 8, 1998  Cancelled due to weather, held January 12, 1998 - voted pay raises for themselves and office manager, letter to state about Hamlin Lake Dam, Fire Dept budget request $64,000 and more
December 11, 1997  K. Holleman & Kevin Healy resign from Fire Dept; reappoint M. Mc Carthy & R. Petersen to 3 yr. term on Planning Comm; reappoint A. Casperson & C. Miller to 4 yr. term on ZBA; DEQ resolution to the dock situation at Wilson Hill;
November 13, 1997 Board agreed to purchase a weather station for the fire station; rate of inflation for determining 1998 taxable values is 2.7 percent; the Board approved purchase of 15 new 8 foot long tables for the hall;the Board appointed C. Lewis and A.Anderson to serve as township representatives on the Hamlin Lake/Pere Marquette Sewer and Water Authority Board. 
 
October 9, 1997   Board deleted residency restriction for Fire Chief;DNR purchased 200 acres for the state park; E.Decker Road resident requests 45MPH speed limit; J. Johson's request to raise logs denied by DEQ; S. Vandervest awarded the snowplow contract;Amends land division act to allow 45 day approval & eliminate proff of well & septic unless under 1 acre.
September 11, 1997  Bid accepted for Greene Elec to upgrade the electrical service at the fire barn; Ross Survey's to survey South Bayou Park;Decker Rd. speed limit signs to be requested; Recording Clerk position abolished. duties assigned to office manager; Board supports county jail millage;
August 14, 1997 Hire James Bogus to fire department;Jabrocki excavating hired to demolish Sunkist cottage, Progressive Engineering hired to create a concept drawing of new S. Bayou Park; B. Beckstrom refuses offer to pay 1/2 to relocated the Township dock; Ken Ross request for light at Wildwood Court denied.
July 10, 1997  Approved hiring of Chad Bray and Thomas Tenney as volunteer firemen;The Board approved a $.25 pay raise for Gerry Sladick (park);discussed poor visibility at the South Bayou Bridge;received notification from the DEQ regarding a public hearing on J. Johnson's application to salvage/remove logs; reviewed second letter from Barb Beckstrom, regarding the encroachment of the township's dock on her property;the Board approved the purchase of the computer printer and table from J. Hyslop for the Clerk's use;
June 12, 1997  referendum presented to the Clerk of Hamlin Township calling for a vote on Article 15 - Adult Business
May 8, 1997 Board  approved Adult Business in Agricultural District; named Bill Karlsen to Zoning Board of Appeals, named Arch Lewis an alternate to the same, still short one alternate member; DEQ is considering a permit for an individual to harvest logs from the bottom of North Bayou; New Fire Truck is due in July; issue contract to Sorensen Excavating to add gravel to the transfer site, Wilson Hill & South Bayou; Closed on the purchase of the Sunkist Cottage property, to be used as a park, bids being accepted for the cottage only; approved $200 expenditure for flowers and pots for the townhall;
April 10, 1997  Approved 6 amendments to the Zoning Ordinance; Adult Business returned to Planning Commission; planned road improvements.

March 13, 1997  Mr. David Johnson, Decker Road, presented a petition signed by eleven 
residents to the Township Board requesting their consideration in paving Decker Road; the fire department will no longer participate in the pig roast;a pay increase of $2.00 hr. was approved for the firemen;$.25/per hour raise was approved for the two transfer facility employees; Atty. R. Anderson was present to discuss the proposed article on adult businesses;the Board appointedC. Lewis as monitor of charge cards and charge accounts.
February 13, 1997  Board approves loan for new fire truck; Firefighters to no longer participate in pig roast/fire works;Oak Ridge Dr. accepted as a certified road;K. Griffith named Freedom of Information Coordinator; Board votes 2.8% raises for selves;
January 9, 1997  Approve purchase of E One Pumper at a cost of $186,971.00; Discussion of Hamlin Shores project; problems with Sunkist titles;$.75 raise for Office Manager;
December 30, 1996  Special meeting to approve the signing of the buy/sell agreement for Fewerda's Sunkist cottage.
December 12, 1996  Fire truck bids are in; road name changes for Mag-a-may, Larch & Dennis; tabled review of Hamlin Lake Shores project; agreed to purchase internet System from Jackpine; to look into raises for Board; Jim Anderson named second deputy to treasurer;
