The Monday September 28.1998 meeting of the Hamlin Township Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order at 7:30 PM by A. Casperson.
Roll Call:
Members Present: A. Casperson, W. Karlsen, A. Lewis, C. Miller, D. Petersen
Members Absent: J. Thomas
Others Present: S. Armstrong; B. Forgue, The Wiley's, Charles & Gert Wallace,

Minutes: A motion was made to accept the minutes of the August 10, 1998 meeting by A. Casperson supported by C. Miller all in favor Motion Carried.

The first order of business concerned: Mr. & Mrs. James Wiley of Livonia, MI,  owners of the property# 53-007-034-001-10 located at 7137 Duneview are requesting two variances 1) for 23' height on the waterfront (18' is allowed) Article 4.02 2) for a reduced setback of 14' from the high water mark (35' required) Article 14.05A1.  Both variances were APPROVED due to existing conditions.

Correspondence: None

Discussion: The house is curently a non conforming structure dating from approx. 1950. It is impossible to add on to it in a conforming manner.

Motion: A motion was made by C. Miller supported by A. Lewis to setback variance for reason that to move the house back would relegate the house to no value.
Vote: Casperson Yes; Karlsen Yes; Lewis Yes; Miller Yes; Petersen Yes; Motion Carried. APPROVE

Motion: A motion was made by A. casperson supported by B. Karlsen to height variance for reason that it is impossible to build down due to water table and no neighboring view is obstructed
Vote: Casperson Yes; Karlsen Yes; Lewis Yes; Miller Yes; Petersen Yes; Motion Carried. APPROVE

The next meeting will be held upon notification. There being no further business at hand,  motioned to adjourn. All members were in favor. Motion Carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:50PM EDT.
